There are four basic criteria that must be met to recognize revenue. Much has been written as to what they are, but relatively little about how to apply them within a practical framework. This course not only examines the four criteria, but also provides a structure that can be used to dissect the variety of multiple element arrangements companies enter into every day.
Topics:
- SAB 104 vs. SOP 97-2
- The “RevRec” Approach to Multi-Element Arrangements
- define the arrangement
- identify the elements
- separate the elements
- allocate consideration
- meet the criteria
- The Four Criteria
- evidence
- delivery
- fixed or determinable fee
- collectibility
